Lo, you appear to be talking about what the early Catholic church did regarding the Bible. IMO, yes, they did tamper with it to suit their own agenda but, try as they may, they could not alter the true message of Jesus Christ. Many things contradict the orthodox take on things and the orthodox take is NOT believed by many of the new Christians who are gaining in strength every day. Yes, we believe in the Bible, with primary emphasis on the New Testament. All of the opinionated gnostic texts you have quoted are just that, opinions. All theories, philosophies, and beliefs are based on opinions. My opinion is that the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ is true. Others may have a different opinion but, do not come at me saying you have facts when, in fact, all you have are more opinions.
The fact that anyone was considered for pope, does not impress me. The pope in Rome is no closer to God and Jesus Christ, than than anyone else who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior with all their heart and soul.
So, if you came with the intent of causing dissention, or trouble, your efforts will amount to naught. TD |
