Ish, honey, you are fortunate that it was only plastic wrap! In the midst of being besieged today, count your blessings, my friend. My mother's neighbors were understanding when my father died; it was as though the Colliers' place were being cleaned out! She lived with this.

My friend's aunt kept utility bills that she had paid 20 years ago all mixed up with important papers relating to the here and now. We couldn't throw out anything without looking carefully, lest we lose something important.

Saddest of all, she clearly knew that something was wrong: All the cleaning supplies indicated she wanted to clean the place, but the job had gotten beyond her. There were books about how to organize whose very presence says worlds. Ish, she was storing a duplicate set of cheap chinaware in her gutted television console; I happened to notice it when the sun was shining at the just the right angle.

BTW, I have to thank X for her immediate responses to my questions. What we found of value, my friend recognized immediately as important WWII memorabilia. Most of the rest was sheer junk, but it was heartening to know that someone was willing to help if we found something that was open to question. If I have not sufficiently expressed my appreciation for your warm offers of help, I do so now!
