Congratulations That is good news you got your Jaz to work with Windows

Here's the confusing part... SCSI BIOS DOES NOT INSTALL! NT continues on to boot without problem. But I am now able to see/read/write successfully with the Jaz in NT. But without the SCSI BIOS installed how is this possible? And why doesn't the BIOS install in the first place without the 68 pin devices online?

You don't need the SCSI BIOS with the configuration you are using. The only time you absolutely need to have the SCSI BIOS installed is when you are booting from a SCSI hard drive. Windows, either NT or 98, during boot up goes out and determines what type of drives are installed and then installs the appropriate driver for your drives. Windows ignores the SCSI BIOS and never uses it after boot up. I don't know why the SCSI BIOS is not installed when nothing is connected to your motherboard's 68 pin connector. But don't worry about it. You don't need the SCSI BIOS to use your hard and removable drives when running Windows. However, to access the SCSI hard and removable drives in DOS you either need to have the SCSI BIOS installed or drivers loaded during boot up. You will always need to load a driver during boot up to access your SCSI CD-ROM when running DOS.

I was unable to figure out how to directly connect the HD50 pin Jaz to the IDC50 pin mobo connector any more
directly than I already have it. A HD50 to IDC50 adapter is reqiured and no way around that I can see. The only
adjustment that I can see is shorter cables out of each end of that adapter. Am I missing something really obvious here?

No. I am not going to argue with success.
