I am not well satisfied with my life, James. I have spent so much money on therapy to overcome the unnecessary cruelty of my early childhood that it is almost obscene, and I will never be the whole person I was before I was abused. Children who cannot trust the adults around them to simply and gently love them never look at the world in the same way, and even though it can be subtle, the issue is always there.
