Would we ever! MXIM is selling at 16X last quarter annualized sales,
and LLTX at 19X.

Note this article:

biz.yahoo.com

Forecast sales growth in the industry of 25%, 31% and 28% for 2000, 2001 and 2002 respectively (up from 15% this year), with wireless
(which is important for Xicor) a favored area.

While we are dreaming, if Xicor had the industry growth rate (which it
historically has not), concentrated in new specialty chips that catch people's attention, and acquired a P/S of 10 (much lower than MXIM and LLTC but much higher than ATML), sales for the third quarter of 2002
would be over $60 million and the stock price would be around $100.
Although I believe this is unlikely to happen, I think this analysis serves a useful purpose in defining an upper bound target that suggests that sellers now will be very sorry -- with just how sorry yet to be determined.
