Hello Hans, the telecom shares in HK have been moving steadily higher all along. Remember that I bought (and noted on this board beforehand) the purchase of HK Telecom shares at HK$19.5 and sold at 22 a few days later. I just bought (noted here last week before purchase) New World Cyberbase (276) at HK$ 2.35-2.45, and I am holding (they just announced a IP Telephone deal in cooperation with affiliated companies.

There will be a bunch more of listings in the next year. Cellular penetration in HK is absurdly high already (>60%). ISP number about 50, also high. We only have 6 million folks. The play in these HK shares, ultimately, is of course China. So, main allocation in this sector for me is China Telecom (CHL) still looks good. Held since US$ 26-35/share and now bravely issuing Puts. I am hoping that they will announce an internet via wireless deal.
