Tell it to the guy next door who rents and doesn't get your large five figure tax deduction. Is that "fair".

IMO, the guy paying 500 paid his dues. Maybe the govt. should have invested some of the money it took off him instead of running around buying votes with it.

I am of the strong opinion that without Prop 13, you would be paying more than $3,800. When the guy next door dies or sells, the new owner will probably be paying MORE than you.
