Are you surprised Billy is watching you ??? MSFT has tons of hooks into all their code that compile stats. Those stats can be collected when users attach to various sites, those stats are then collected and sent to MSFT HQ. All up and down the line these stats are collected, bought, sold and re-sold. As any hacker knows, most any doc sent over the net is encoded with the CPU id that it was crafted on. That id can be tracked to the owner and through which portal it entered the net. That's why there is a huge market for seemingly worthless old/stolen computer hardware, it's easier to be stealthy with it.
