I am not the author of the studies; nor do I have the entire article in front of me, all I have are the abstracts, which I posted in their entirety. I suggest that if you want more information, you go to the library (NIH medical library in Bethesda, and Georgetown Medical Library in DC are both open to the public) and read the articles yourself. Here is a URL for a very balanced article on spanking, which presents arguments for and against. The arguments "for" seem to be chiefly religious, based on fundamentalism, and a literal view of the exhortation in the Bible that if you "spare the rod," you "spoil the child." religioustolerance.org
