Hi Bill:

Not only are North American markets sitting up and taking note of the "new AMD" with the Athlon, its flagship product, but you also have to factor in European markets which seem one step ahead of the North American markets in this regard. Throw in the threat of the potential European boycott against Intel, and one can easily conclude that European sales could be quite robust.

Of course PII and PIII sales have softened for Intel. There is no other possible outcome given the additional 800,000 (minimum estimate) of "spry Athys" shipped in Q4.

The next month leading into 99Q4 results will be rampant with speculation around earnings for both INTC and AMD...I remain firmly entrenched in $900 million AMD revenues minimum with an outside chance of $1 billion...Looking for a resumption in the upward price bias of AMD in the near term.
