He got killed in a number of his long picks. If you go through the first couple of hundred posts in this thread, you'll see that the picks that overlapped with (very "loose" wording coming here) "ours" did quite well, but that there were some incredible stinkers. I bought one of those stinkers (Chrysalis), and got out in a hurry after some quick research. Really opened my eyes........ Message 3584367 Really bad list. In contrast, my IRA is up over 3X this year, and the sequential performance of "bounce" and "dry powder" is up something like 250-300% (very rough estimate, perhaps not accurate) in about 20 months. There's the issue of liquidity, but.... Lampert never seems to have any trouble negotiating those timely dips to get bargains in illiquid issues..... there are two sides to that coin. I've also heard the rumor about having done poorly with shorts. That's why I was concerned when I saw the TTP and NPSP disclosures.
