Scott: Ever since Ausdauer made the extensive comprehensive nomination here, SNDK has been discussed and even found its way into the Watch and Wait list..

I was very much impressed by his presentation, and in the words of a late advertisement "bought the company" (well not quite - just some of the company's stock.)

Because of the Taiwan earthquake, the stock has stalled for the past months. And perhaps for other reasons too.

And some (especially here) have been put off by the decision to go together with Toshiba on a foundry. The argument runs that foundries are bad for a company's financial health. That may be.

But in the real world, the deal with Toshiba seems to have accomplished much of what Sandisk needed - most importantly getting Toshiba as a strong alley against the only real competition - Sony with its "stick".

The future pervasiveness of removable storage in digital cameras, portable music devices, games, wireless phones, handheld computers and other such, and other digital appliances yet to move out of the lab, put SNDK on the early part of the bell curve in LindyBill's very perceptive descriptive terminology IMO.

Strongly second your nomination of Sandisk as a Young King.

PS In similar fashion as JDSU, suspect the discussion should and perhaps may center on whether SNDK is a young gorilla rather than young king, but in either case discussing it here makes sense.
