MM would not include investment bankers, stockbrokers, floor traders. The firm (broker/dealer) they work for may be a MM. It's only the people, or that part of the firm who are actually making the market that would be MMs.
For example, lets say Merrill Lynch (ML) makes a market in INTC and MSFT. The stockbroker who works in an office is NOT a MM. The people in the investment banking dept of ML are not MMs. The floor traders who work for ML are NOT MMs. Its only that dept of ML that makes a market in INTC, and MSFT that qualifies as MMs. Don't make it complicated.
The salesman selling you a car is a car salesman. The people in service or parts are not salespeople. Larry.
