Hello AV,

I've been a lurker for well over 2 years and have enjoyed your thread immensely, reading almost daily. I joined SI so I could write this one letter. I have no insights on stocks nor am I techie, which is why I have never had the desire to be a member before now. I do believe tech is the future and that is why I mostly invest in tech stocks.

I first of all want to thank you for sharing your vast knowledge with those of us that are not in this business.
You obviously know this business (semiconductors) very well.

I just had to write, when you constantly spam your newsletter, it really takes away from the thread, I also see your spamming on other threads as well, (freebies on CYMI). I know you have many fans that follow this thread that have made lots of money following your advice. But please don't claim that ALL have. I received your newsletter during the beginning when it was free and have followed your advice from this thread. And I lost thousands of dollars. I lost on wfr, sybs, alyd, ebnk, asyt, etec and some others. In your newsletter, you do not give specific buys and sells, this is my biggest reason for not subscribing. You use terms as "on the radar screen" which means what? I read about one of your stocks being on the radar and 4 days later, find out that was a buy, then you are "watching" another stock, and that ends up a sell, which you share with your readers sometime later. Another time a "watch this stock" was a buy. By using this method (ambiguous terms) you later can claim calling it just right.

In your newsletter I also saw where you would write about maybe 10 stocks, a week later when one of them jumps in price you say something like "hope you bought 'xxx' last week when I shared this with the subscribers, if you had only bought 2000 shares you would have paid for a lifetime of subscriptions." You conveniently don't mention the other 9 stocks that went down in price. This puts you right there in line with the other newsletters I have taken. Write about lots of stocks, and then claim victory by picking out the ones that were winners.

As with other publications, you have your disclaimers, which cover you, for anybody faulting your advice.
I don't wish to come across as bitter, I blame myself, because in the end, I am the one who made the final decisions when to buy and when to sell. I made maybe 25 buys and lost on all but 1, following your tips. You are a much more talented writer than I am, and I am sure you can come back with very good sounding reasons for all of this. I am not asking for a response. Just think of me as a very unlucky investor.

In closing I will say that I did learn a very valuable lesson here, don't try to time the market (it was a very expensive lesson though).
