Yeah, and that was dividends, not earnings. Nowadays we're happy with the vicarious thrill of seeing someone else collect profits. That reminds me, a while ago somebody said stock buybacks are as good as dividends. I disagree, because a company can buy back stock once and get good press and it doesn't commit them to anything long-term, but if they start paying a dividend then stockholders will expect them to keep it up. (Jeez, you'd think they owned the company or something! Hah!) Fun-da-Mental
