Do you remember the old commercials featuring a guy who won an investor tournament three years in a row? The message was that he was some kind of 'expert' and so we should subscribe to the paper he was flogging. What wasn't mentioned was how many times he entered. Just imagine, you enter a dozen times, each taking a really long shot with a big payoff. When one of your ideas works out, you're a hero. Interesting observation: No recognition for investing prudently or carefully; just hit the bullseye or nothing. You're right about sending the wrong message. Cheers, PW.
