RE>>, BV did Jesus give a NEW commandment?<<
Matthew 22:35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him,
It depends on how you view that Commandment...
It was both new and not new at all. It was new in that Jesus came to earth and showed God's love in the flesh. It is not new in that God has always commanded the brethren to love one another:
1 John 2:7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
When was it not a commandment for the brethren to love one another?
1 John2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
Love .... people who talk about love out of one side of their mouth and of the other destroy the law of God have not the love of God dwelling in them.
Sabbath Breakers are haters of their fellow man. Thieves are haters of their fellow man. Those who witness falsely and attempt to ruin the good name of others are haters of God and man.
There is no love without law. Law is the careful respect and fulfilling of law toward God and your fellow man.
Biblical love is not from unHolywood or some mushy romantic "warm feeling" I am not against affection but true Love " AGAPE LOVE " is keeping of God's Holy Law even if it cost you your life.
Romans 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Stop tempting me and trying to discredit my witness.
My witness is true... if you fight me you will fight God's truth.
This comment is sinful:
