Cabletron Systems to Host 'Digital New Hampshire'; Progress & Freedom Foundation Event Features Release of Major Report and Roundtable Discussion

ROCHESTER, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 13, 1999--Cabletron Systems today announced that it will host the Progress & Freedom Foundation's Digital New Hampshire event, a luncheon briefing releasing the results of a major new report on the digital economy in New Hampshire. Following the briefing, there will be a roundtable featuring key members of New Hampshire's business, government and education communities to discuss New Hampshire's digital economy. The event will be held Tuesday, December 14th at Cabletron's corporate headquarters in Rochester, New Hampshire.

New Hampshire Governor Jeanne Shaheen, Cabletron President Piyush Patel and PFF President Jeff Eisenach will give opening remarks. PFF Vice President Tom Lenard will present and interpret the findings of the report. Afterwards, business leaders from New Hampshire will discuss the digital revolution and what is happening in New Hampshire.

Members of the roundtable include: Kevin Casey, Senior Vice President, MediaOne; Jesse Devitte, President, Vertical Market Ventures & Chairman, Software Association of NH; Brian Gottlob, Vice President of Public Policy, Business Industry Association; Michael Hickey, President, Bell Atlantic New Hampshire; Ross Gittell, Professor, University of New Hampshire; Henry Fiallo, CIO, Cabletron Systems, Inc.; Wayne Wilson, President & COO, PC Connection, Inc.; George Bald, Commissioner, Department of Resources & Economic Development; Jim Steiner, Senior Director of Product Management, Oracle. Also invited: Bruce Backa, New Technology Partners; Fred Kocher, NH High Tech Council; Joann Hodgon, Portsmouth Technology Panel. Chuck Martin, author and Chairman, Net Future Institute will moderate the roundtable.
