Ouch, Ouch Ouch!

At the time I sold the covered calls, I was looking for a quick additional revenue. The lesson from last months debacle was not to sell covered calls too long before options expiration. I thought that I could grab a quick $1.00 for selling the calls 9 days before options expiration. Who would of thought that AOL would shoot up 16 points in less then a week. Now I have to work on my "exit" stratagy and roll the calls over. Yes I'm still bullish on AOL, but I wanted to set up a system that would generate extra monthly income by selling covered calls "way" outside the money right before options expiration. Interstingly enough, the Street.com made mention of selling calls during the week of options expiration as an interesting strategy. I guess I just "shorted" myself, one too many times.

As they say, wisdom is the scar tissue of our past experiences.

Best of luck to all,

David
