Doug,

As a patient takes the drug, a reservoir of the drug builds up within the cells.
That way if the virus attacks the healthy cell, viral infection will be inhibited.
Although the cell has built up this reservoir, I would doubt that the prophylatic effect
would continue for very long after discontinuation of therapy. After all GS 840 is a drug,
not a vaccine.
