I was not confusing Starbucks and Wal-Mart economic models. I thought a couple of posts ago that you were, and that is why I pointed out the discrepancy. But on rereading them, I now see what you were saying.

Did you actually read this article that I posted before for MSB? If not, could you, and then comment on it? I would be interested to hear what you think after you read it. My point, and the point of the author of the article, is that economic efficiency does not necessarily make communities better, and that we pay a huge cultural cost for unbridled capitalism.
