My comments on profit-taking pertained to 1999 not 2000. should have been clear about that. My premise was that since the aol/walmart deal announcement was imminent, those reading the post would assume the remaining days of December to be the timeframe. As you point out, 1999 tax liabilities also work to mitigate a correction before 1/1/2000.

I believe we will have a sharp correction in mid-January based on melt-up market this month.
