I would assume at least some of the adds are subsidized. It's called co-op advertising, and these dollars along with other forms of soft money are part of any successful high powered marketing program. It's not a crime...it's good business strategy. Intel's marketing has always been a strength....and Intel's financial success has provided Marketing with plenty of resources to use as they see fit.

Perhaps one day when AMD's balance sheet stops looking as bloody as the opening scene from Saving Private Ryan, they too will be able to afford more advertising dollars <gg>.
