Let's hope that CBS's comments this morning will "NOW" set the trend for today. These are premarket comments:Ligand Pharmaceuticals (LGND: news, msgs) shot up 2 5/16, or 20 percent, to 14, said Hogan. The company announced after the bell Monday that the Oncologic Drugs Advisory committee of the U.S. FDA recommended market approval for Targretin capsules in the advanced-stage cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, a disease in which certain cells of the lymph system become cancerous. However, Targretin capsules were not approved for early stage CTCL patient population. The San Diego, Calif.-based drug developer has worldwide rights to Targretin and, if approved, is expected to market and sell the product in the United States, Canada and Europe.
