Concurrent Announces that Vivid Technology Has Been Selected by
Comcast Cable for Video-On-Demand Technology Trial
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 14, 1999--Concurrent Computer Corporation (Nasdaq:CCUR - news) announced today that its wholly owned
subsidiary, Vivid Technology, has been selected by Comcast Cable Communications, Inc. to provide the hardware and software for a Video-On-Demand (VOD)
technology trial in a yet to be announced city, scheduled to begin in the first half of 2000.

The trial will offer participating subscribers movies-on-demand, including recent Hollywood hits, classics, and other popular titles.
Vivid Technology's VOD system will be deployed using the General Instrument DCT-2000 digital set-top box. Vivid's Video Server is based on a unique
architecture of networked servers that provides scalable systems from 100 to 40,000 streams of video. The system provides a billing interface service, a
customizable VOD subscriber interface, and the ability to include other interactive applications.

VOD enables cable operators to offer subscribers an information and entertainment medium that provides individual freedom, control, choice, flexibility,

movies--including recent Hollywood hits--on-demand into cable subscribers' homes with full VCR-type control, such as pause, rewind and fast forward.
For subscribers, VOD will equate to having the video rental store right in their home--minus such video store inconveniences as late fees, sold-out titles, and poor
video quality. Furthermore, the technology allows operators to provide a revenue-generating service and an exciting, competitive offering to their subscribers.
