Mike, Mike... he didn't infer, imply or acuse (intentional misspelling so you can say [sic]) GUMM management of fraud. He called it a "stock promotion scheme." Now, while you and I and most of the world would interpret that as something bad, and perhaps even illegal, he meant a "scheme" like the kind the Little Rascals might get into. You know, a well-meaning plan, or perhaps a prank. "Jeepers, Wally - Eddie Haskell and I didn't mean to hype the stock, we were just trying to get the company better known, so our Wal-Mart would stock Zicam, so Mom would buy it, so Dad would use it and get over his cold! Are we gonna get in trouble with the SEC or something?" More or less like that. See? As wholesome as the '50s themselves.
