The difference on the supply side is obviously leasing, CB sales, and the former includes the gold carry trade. The question is whether this amounts to manipulation or simply investment stategy. Soon it may backfire - what people seem to forget is that investors and speculators 'go with the flow' 'follow the trend', etc., etc. one day it will make sense to go on the bull side - or at least the long side will appeal to more than the short side. Then I guess all the talk of manipulation on these threads will dry up?
