MTI Enhances DataServices with the Addition Of PathFinder High Availability Software

MTI's PathFinder Software Provides Users With Higher Levels of Data Availability

ANAHEIM, Calif., Dec. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Expanding its high-availability software offerings, MTI Technology Corp.(Nasdaq: MTIC - news) today announced the immediate availability of PathFinder(TM) for Windows NT, the first in a series of software modules that provide host-side Fibre Channel adapter fault protection for systems connected to MTI's Vivant(TM)
storage servers. PathFinder is the newest addition to MTI's DataServices(TM) offerings.

MTI's PathFinder for Windows NT is designed to provide continuous access to online information by correcting potential failures that may occur in the data path between the host system and the Fibre Channel storage server. To preserve data availability, MTI's PathFinder will maintain continual access to the Vivant storage server by locating and redirecting data to an alternate functioning path.

''IT directors tell us that continuous access to data is not an option, it is a requirement,'' said John McArthur, vice president of
storage research at Framingham-based International Data Corporation. ''Dynamic path failover function, such as MTI's PathFinder, is a critical component of any continuous data access solution.''

PathFinder is the newest data availability feature that has been added to the Connection Services segment of MTI's DataServices storage methodology. DataServices offers a comprehensive suite of enterprise storage network solutions that are designed to eliminate problems associated with today's complex storage environments.

''PathFinder is the first in a series of Fibre Channel adapter failover products to be released for the Vivant series of storage
servers,'' said Kevin J. Liebl, MTI's vice president of marketing. ''It has been developed by MTI as part of its DataServices
architecture to provide this critical element of high-availability enterprise architectures. Our mission is to continue to enhance the
DataServices offering with greater levels of availability, performance and overall functionality.''

PathFinder is available immediately for the Vivant series of storage servers. It is priced from $3,500 per server.
