There is no emotion to todays trading. If anything, I am sensing the fear of not taking profits as high as the next guy. . . which is sick when you think about it. . .

So there is nobody that wants "out at any price" . . there is no REASON for selling. . .and I would guess that today is setting up more buying opportunities than anything else. . . . but again. . .always keep tight stops. . . I don't trust this market either way.

So here we are expecting a sell-off. . .we are even WANTING a sell-off. . .and after waiting for 3 extra trading days. . .we get one and we don't believe it!! Go figure.

If we are going to get a sell-off of any significance, it needs to have some emotion behind it. . . . we are now less than a week away from Ralph Accompora's predictions for 2000 . . .which should really heat things up. . . .and again. . if there is fear in this market. . .it has more to do with the fear of missing another upward leg. . .or the fear of not taking profits as close to the top as the next guy.

Pretty strange.

Otherwise. . .the economy is in superb condition. . .retail sales are extraordinary. . but it does not seem to be contributing to inflation. . . must be all those discount houses. . .nobody buys retail anymore.

As I type this, the Dow, etc. indexes are trying to rebound. . .so there really is no change here. . in sentiment or otherwise. . that I can see.

If we do get a strong rebound today. . . it would speak volumes about what is driving investment today. . . .and we all know that it starts with a gr, ends in a d and when said properly. . has 3 syllables.
