Tue 14 Dec 99 News Release
Mr. Pierre Simon reports
Webfin.com inc., the largest French language financial Web site in North
America, signed an agreement with Netgraphe Inc., under which Netgraphe
will purchase 66 2/3 per cent of the shares of Webfin.com inc. The cash
transaction was evaluated based on good will of over two million pages read
monthly, with visits averaging more than 14 minutes in duration.
This agreement will grant the portal InfiniT.com superior financial
content. With the launching of the InfiniT.com portal, Webfin.com will
become the investment section of the site (Investir).
"This strategic alliance undeniably gives the Internet and investment an
unprecedented boost in Quebec," said Pascale Berthiaume, co-founder and
vice-president of Webfin.com.
"Webfin.com is perfectly integrated with Netgraphe's strategy of
establishing a significant presence in the financial services niche," said
Pierre Simon, chairman of the board of Netgraphe.
In addition, Webfin.com will soon be unveiling its enhanced formula, which
gives on-line investors access to a panoply of new applications. They will
be able to build personalized portfolios, seek out analysts' opinions on
public companies and download a market review in audio and video formats --
a first in the French language finance world. Webfin.com is one of the
first sites to offer this technology, which keeps net surfers up-to-date
with stock market and finance news.
The site includes the largest French language discussion forum in the
world, on the topic of North American markets. Thousands of messages are
posted at the forum every day.
Webfin is aimed at investors and people with inquiring minds. It is also a
good initiation to the stock markets: mutual funds, exclusive news, special
features and a broad spectrum of contributions from finance newsmakers; in
short, peak quality and financial information.
