SOXX:

"..The Philadelphia Stock Exchange semiconductor index (^SOXX - news) fell 5.05 percent. Analysts said semiconductor issues were hurt by Solectron Corp. (NYSE:SLR - news), a custom electronics maker, which reported first-quarter revenues that fell short of forecasts.

Wall Street analysts said a shortage of components had hurt Solectron and was part of a broader problem for printed circuit board makers. Solectron was off 10 at 83-1/16.

Fear about the shortage dragged down leading semiconductor makers. Among them, Intel Corp. (NasdaqNM:INTC - news), a Dow component, was off 13/16 at 73-5/16, and Texas Instruments Inc. (NYSE:TXN - news) slumped 6-3/16 to 99-3/4..."
