CMGI Forms New Business to Business Services
Company

Dec 14 11:38am ET

ANDOVER, Mass. (Reuters) - Internet venture capital firm CMGI Inc. (CMGI.O), said
on Tuesday it formed a majority owned subsidiary, CMGI Solutions Inc., to help
companies take their businesses online.

After the announcement, CMGI shares rose more than 6 points and hit a new high of
226-1/8 in morning trading before settling back to 216-1/2 up 4-5/8.

The company said it created CMGI Solutions in the summer to offer services to
mid-sized and large companies on the Fortune Global 2000 list. CMGI Solutions offers
to help established companies conduct their full range of transactions online.

``The idea for CMGI Solutions grew organically from our existing network of Internet
businesses and their customers' interest in applying our collective Internet experience
to deliver a range of e-business products and services,' David Wetherell, CMGI chief
executive, said in a statement.

The move expands CMGI's interest in the business-to-business software and services
market. Last month, the company announced it would form a separate venture capital
fund, CMGI Ventures B2B fund, that could invest up to $1 billion in
business-to-business Internet ventures.
