Joe,
We inherited the MSFT position. Her father and uncle were astute individuals and bought it many years ago. However, We both just decided that I had done enough research on GRNO to justify moving some of it over to a stock that we both felt had excellent growth opportunity.
MSFT rose 9 points on Friday for a 10% gain to its investors. Folks who are buying GRNO at these levels only need to see $8 or so to see 50% and $11 for a 100% gain. Tell me which company has the better potential to double in the next year and you will have provided the primary reason for our adding to our GRNO position.
I think it is time to repost the Peter Lynch "sermon on the mount". GRNO has all of the makings of providing fantastic returns by the end of 1997. (personally, I'm looking at a 4 bagger based on current price levels) It has the technology, the environmental story, a niche market, little overhead, and wonderful profitability as shown by its earnings based on the sale of Unit #1 to the limited partnership.
When further deals are proven to the street to be "locked in", it will be a matter of simple arithmetic to multiply the number of delivered units in a respective quarter by the earnings just announced.
And Joe, don't worry about the "perceived antagonism" from your first post. At times like these we need to remember and reassess the original reasons that we invested in this company rather than act like lemmings that drive ourselves to our own demise.
Many of us could sell our shares at this moment. However, it would only play into the hands of the mmkrs who are accumulating to take advantage of future news. Do those who sell think they will be able to buy a similiar quantity back at a lower price?? I wouldn't be too sure about that. That is why I'm not selling even my trading position. I don't want to be stuck waiting for 31 days to meet "wash rule" requirements before buying back my stock. Thus, I will continue to lock up the quantity of shares that my wife and I possess and the hell with the general market. Why do I feel this confident?? Because I understand the fundamentals, and YES, I happen to know and trust the company's management. They are stuck in the situation along with the rest of us. (ie: They can't sell their positions either with any ease, or without trashing the stock price.)
