Earlie, thanks for your thoughtful analysis. Perhaps the biggest threat to that scenario is investors will continue to ignore reality and the street will tell them ignore the present the second half of 2000 will be gangbusters. Thus far the herds blind faith in the street's optimism has been rewarded like Pavlov's dog. one day that dog won't hunt -g- I am undecided if the Fed tries to maintain the bubble through the election or as Milhouse suggests at gold-eagle.com ( Mythman's favorite site) let it deflate and then really gun it for the elections. I recognize that the Fed will inevitably someday be powerless if they continue to interfere with the free market much like the BOJ has been over the past decade. Mike
