"Moronic. Just effing Moronic." - I wouldn't be too hard on yourself. The problem was that you were either holding the chart upside down or you didn't do the research. I'm guessing you didn't check before you talked.

When the news came out, SB dropped from the 30's to just over 20. I didn't notice the drop after the news died down like you did, though. You must have a different perspective than most people. If you would look at the chart, you would see that there was a pretty steady climb after that and within a year it was at a new high. A few years later they were in the mid 80's when Smith Barney bought them out for 9 billion. You can still get the chart at Bigcharts.com.
