PC Magazine Selects CacheFlow 500 Internet Caching
Appliance Among Its 'Best of 1999'

Leading Technology Magazine Says the CacheFlow Solution Features
the Industry's Best Combination of Performance and Ease of Use

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 14, 1999 -- CacheFlow® Inc. (NASDAQ: CFLO - news), a leading
provider of Internet caching appliances, today announced that its CacheFlow 500 Internet caching appliance has been named
among ''The Best of 1999,'' PC Magazine's list of the most significant technology products of the year. In the issue dated
January 4, 2000, Frank J. Derfler Jr. lauded the CacheFlow solution as providing ''the best combination of performance and
ease of use we've found.'' The CacheFlow 500 was the only caching product included in the ''Best of 1999'' list.

''Higher-bandwidth connections aren't the only answer to slow Internet access,'' Derfler wrote. CacheFlow appliances locally
store and serve the Internet content most often requested by users, while simultaneously monitoring the source of that content
for changes. In doing so, CacheFlow's operating system, CacheOSTM, and custom hardware improve response time for
Internet users, deliver fresher content and more efficiently utilize existing bandwidth.

Earlier this year, PC Magazine tested the CacheFlow 500 appliance against caching products manufactured by five other
companies: Cobalt Networks, Compaq Computer Corp., Dell Computer Corp., Eolian and Industrial Code and Logic. The
magazine graded each system for setup ease and speed, management ease and capabilities and performance. In ''The
Low-Cost Road to the Internet,'' appearing in the September 21 issue, Jeffrey G. Witt described the CacheFlow 500 as ''the
most well-rounded offering in our cache appliance group ... and hands-down Editors' Choice.''

''PC Magazine is the authoritative resource for professionals who make infrastructure decisions at a variety of enterprises
across the globe, so we are extremely proud to be among its 'Best of 1999' list,'' said Stu Aaron, vice president of marketing
and product management at CacheFlow. ''Appliances built specifically for Internet caching deliver greater levels of
performance, reliability and ease of use than can general-purpose software solutions, and we believe the CacheFlow 500 and
our other appliances comprise a portfolio of solutions for customers of all types, sizes and requirements.''
