I look at this as a game of percentages. I buy a lot of stocks and try to hold the good ones and dump the losers before they hurt. I held on to my cmrc shares (@$50 yea!) sold my ppro shares for a small loss (@$27 & $40, boo!) and held, held, held some others until I got really burned (wmi, uis, ftu). The last 3 were part of my little experiment in mainline "safe" blue chip securities. Expensive lesson: bad news sinks blue chips just as fast as .coms but .coms can recover in a quarter or two while blue chips can take years. Not so safe. Fortunately I have had a lot more winners than losers and I try to get out of the losers pretty fast. When I looked at cmrc, I saw a lot of potential so it was easy to hold, plus they moved up fast. I didn't really look hard at ppro so I didn't have much reason to keep them other than they were a b2b business. asds I've looked at and I see them in a nitch with a lot of potential but can't find much more on them in really concrete terms that say they are a winner.
