Jim - to relieve this board of non-CANSLIM stock discussion, I have created a Poormans - CANSLIM potential stock discussion thread. This way maybe the CANSLIMers will return to this one that my good friend John created several years ago. Some of us use Feraldo's thread to post our trades (but has asked us to keep it short and minimal if any discussion).

As you might suspect I don't use pure CANSLIM, but apply the principles to all growth stock to screen out the worst and follow the best according to IBD criteria and information.

I had DELL (and owned - too bad I sold) in 1991 when it had bumbled around and started to show some life at $9. It went to probably 30 before it would met full CANSLIM criteria.

I developed this system about 5 years before I ever heard of CANSLIM, and Ian Woodward evaluated it and said the criteria were very similar.

So folks can come to Poormans and discuss potential CANSLIM stocks and not feel intimidated by the question of meeting the qualifications. I suspect we have a lot more readers than posters around here. I appreciate your CANSLIM evaluations as I track so many stocks that I don't take the time to see if they meet all the criteria.

Poormans $10K model is up 157% for 1999 to date and hasn't had a CANSLIM stock in it all year, at least when bought.

Bruce - de Poorman
