It's the same old song!

1. 750's and 800's on Monday now that such a stellar launch of 733's has been completed!!! (Still can't find a 733 and I'm told it's not because they've already exited the retail channel).

2. Sanders and his outstanding management team have to be amused by the recent turn of events in the higher tier segment of the microprocessor marketplace. The continuing stream of stumbling and empty threats of meaningful competition by Intel is comical, if nothing else!

3. The Athlon with its minimum of 1 million plus units shipped in 1999 has established a solid foundation of converts. The dearth of problems with the Athlon, particularly when compared with the multiple problems experienced by its would be competitor in attempting to keep pace, is a marketer's dream...and virtually assures a steady stream of additional converts throughout 2000, assuming same streamlined performance (which ease of production seems to be an inherent characteristic of the Athlon).

4. I wonder if GTW will bite on this newest promise of 750's and 800's.

5. My own thoughts are that the only reason GTW hasn't jumped aboard the Athlon train yet is that volume could not yet be guaranteed by AMD (too much demand from other sources!), something that should change in 2000Q1, if not sooner.
