A couple of comments....both long and short-term.

I think that part of today's drop may have been due to a report out of the San Diego Tribune newspaper that Nokia was in talks to buy part of Qualcomm's handset decision. The most likely scenario has Nokia signing a CDMA chipset deal as part of the acquisition. This wouldnt effect TXN in the short-term since most Nokia handsets are not CDMA but might have some impact in the long-term. I believe that Nokia is TXN's biggest customer.

From a long-term perspective....I've been doing some DD into the DSL area and it seems like Alcatel/ADI are cleaning up in DSL chipsets. Does anyone have any numbers as to the number of DSL chipsets that TXN has shipped? It seems like all of the press releases that I have read have specified ADI's chipset. The market is exploding.....

Also it seems like LU/MOT's Starcore has been pretty well received. It may just be hype since they are releasing right now but a couple of articles talked about how the chip may challenge TXN in some high-end applications (particuarly basestation chipsets).

Just some concerns of a long-term TXN holder.....DSL and wireless were the two reasons I bought TXN in the first place so I will be watching these developments closely.
