at the other end of the spectrum, SANs and enterprise infrastructure. Dell is making a big play for the SAN market with their first aquisition, Convergent. No, their problem is that their future is not entirely in their own hands. They have been pounded by Intel delays in Rambus, there have been signifigant distractions from Microsoft in the '2000' program. That is a consequence of Dell being the leader in "wintel" systems, and when Win and Tel don't perform then Dell can't provide the punch that everyone expected. Microsoft & Intel won't be in a funk forever, and Dell will reap much of the benefit when they get their act together again. TP
