3Com's application for the spinoff IPO in Feb. for Palm,Inc.
makes CICI look great: This may be a repeat of Dec.9 but to the "new reader" a history with 3Com's news.

(IPO NEWS) CIC Introduces SIGN-IT 2.0 for ADOBE ACROBAT Enabling Electronic
Signature Capture and Verification With PALM Connected Organizers

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.,, Dec 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- (Nasdaq: CICI)
Communication Intelligence Corporation ("CIC")(TM), the leading
supplier of pen-based software solutions, today announced that it
released a new version of its e-signature solution with support for
Palm(TM) handheld devices. Sign-it(TM) 2.0 provides enterprise
customers with a solution for secure electronic document approval and
on-line transactions within Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) 4.0 for applications
such as document workflow, contract execution, and e-commerce.

Gabriel Acosta Lopez, director of platform development services for
Palm Computing Inc., a 3Com company, commented, "CIC's new Sign-it will
enable enterprises to use their organizers to sign-off securely on
electronic documents. This is a cost-effective solution which may help
to reduce investments in additional capital equipment for document
automation deployments and enhance the value of the organizer within
the corporate IT infrastructure."

"CIC has developed an outstanding tool for millions of existing Palm
organizer users who will be able to digitally sign an Adobe Acrobat
document directly from their organizer," said Sarah Rosenbaum, group
product manager, ePaper Solutions Group, Adobe Systems Incorporated. As
the business world transitions from paper-based processes to wholly
digital processes, they will require technologies that enable them to
bridge the gap. Working with CIC and Palm Computing, we are helping
companies realize the strategic value of integrating paper and digital
documents."

With the document technologies market estimated to grow at a combined
compound annual growth rate of 26 percent until 2003, CIC believes that
there is a large potential market for e-signature solutions
(Association for Information and Image Management - "AIIM"). Large
corporations are seeking to implement workflow solutions to reduce both
the cost and time that is currently required to process traditional
paper bound documents.

"Our goal is to provide our customers with the ability to execute
secure transactions electronically whether they are in an office or on
the road. By supporting Palm Computing organizers, we allow enterprises
to extend their document automation solutions to their mobile workforce
and enable a new era in client/companion computing," said Russ Davis,
vice president of product development for CIC.

Within the service sector, CIC has seen a trend toward electronic
service providers subsidizing the device costs to purchasers of their
services, similar to the current cellular phone industry. Some
financial institutions and on-line providers may soon be providing
handheld devices with Internet access, such as the Palm VII(TM)
wireless organizer, to their customers to encourage an increase in
transactions while offering them the convenience of mobile access.
Sign-it 2.0 will offer a cost effective and reliable means to both
secure and authorize transactions and documents electronically whether
in the enterprise or a mobile environment.
