I have held TLAB for over 2 years, and I think that an opportunity to buy at 60 or below is excellent. TLAB has clearly stated that they have a slew of new products coming online in early 2000, I think Jan.
The company I worked for used the Newbridge 3600s (their TDM muxes) before I retired in 94, and it was an excellent product. Retired in 94, and have watched the stock slowly implode, but never owned. It's hard to say what went wrong, but I agree that buying a troubled company can bring trouble into the TLAB house. After getting stung by the CIEN fiasco (which was an incredible example of Murphy's Law), I think TLAB mgmt is totally adverse for a good while about big acquisitions, especially if they come with problems like, ...uh.. morale and employee flight.
