John. I was watching that rally when it started. It is interesting to note that the largest percentage increase in Stratasys' stock price occurred from the trade of about 20K shares. This price movement brought in all the momentum chasers.

I would speculate that fund managers are taking a position
ahead of Stratasys' anticipated 2nd quarter announcement of the Stratasys 8000 machine. This is a bold move in my opinion since Stratasys has stated in their 10K filing that they will be reporting a loss for the 1st quarter which will be reported on May 1st. The move is bold since fund managers risk losing these price gains if there is a selloff on May 1st. I suppose that is why they call investing a form of gambling. <g>

It is interesting to note that Stratasys decided not to announce sales results for the 1st quarter in early April. I can't blame them for deciding not to since fear was gripping the market at that time. However, I always make note of a company's behavior pattern around releasing financial results and so do fund managers. If they form a habit of announcing good sales numbers within 9 days of quarter-end but delay announcing not so good sales numbers until 30 days after the quarter-end, then the street will pick up on this pattern. I have to chuckle when I see other companies exhibit this behavior. When there is no press release within the expected period after quarter-end the fund managers sell off the stock (rather heavily) and the posters on SI not understanding what is happening start blaming the selloff on marketmaker manipulation. <g>

May is the month I re-establish my longterm position in SSYS. Here I was counting on $14 and those marketmakers went and manipulated the price so now I have to pay more. <vbG>

Quite honestly I was hoping this stock would sell off to $14 due to the drubbing of the small cap sector and the recent not so good news from TDSC. I won't take a position until I can see Stratasys' statements in their May 1st press release. I guess that makes me a gambler too. <g>
