Just a thought: I suspect that Intel will use the 750 and 800 Mhz announcement next Monday to help support the stock if they have an earnings warning on the same day.

I had the similar thought in my mind when I heard it the first time. There has to be some kind of important reason behind this paper launch. IMHO, it's not for additional Q3 revenues or it's not for the symbolic recapturing of the speed crown. Any ways, that's enough about Intel. Here is some great news AMD - GTW or may be not.

Since the GTW rumors started, I've been searching GTW site every day for any Athlon documents, but always ended up with no results. Even this morning there were no documents found at GTW site with Athlon word in them. The search I did a while ago (using "Athlon" as the keyword) yielded 7 documents containing "Athlon" word(s) in it. All of these hits lead to the "Installation Guide" that is generic to all their models. Now it contains references to "Athlon" besides all the other Intel CPUs.

This is what I did to get to the above document -

Search --> Athlon --> click on the item "2 contents". It's a big document and prepare to give it some time to load. ( click here gateway.com to go directly to the Athlon search results page and then click on "2. contents" document OR
