RE: will Linux cos make money. Briefing.com makes the simple point that MSFT made it's 100% margins bec nobody else could compete with me.....they were a single source. Linux is available from dozens of sources, all competing with each other. I would add: look at the disc/hard drive mfgrs....those guys made a crucial product but only made money early on......rest of the time has been treading water.
