VirtualSellers.com Issues the TAME Challenge; Give Us a Problem We Can't Solve. We Dare You CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, 1999--VirtualSellers.com Inc. (OTC BB:VDOT) Wednesday announced a business and technology "dare" of sorts open to e-solutions providers and their customers, called the TAME(R) Challenge.
To substantiate the company's claims about the strengths of its proprietary programming language, (Tag Activated Markup Enhancer) TAME(R), VirtualSellers.com is inviting e-solutions providers to present a Web project to be completed using TAME(R) as the core technology.
"The TAME(R) Challenge will prove to be the ultimate product demonstration for any new or emerging technology to date," said Scott Lopes, VirtualSellers.com's Enterprise Application Development Manager.
"Many companies provide demonstration projects that were created internally for the purpose of the demonstration. While developing solutions in a controlled environment is convenient, it does not exactly resemble the real-world solution development process."
VirtualSellers.com announced version 4.0 of TAME(R) last week, which uses an interpretive language that is Unix and Windows NT compatible and has the economic effect of reducing bandwidth requirements and saving up to 50 percent coding time compared with Microsoft (Nasdaq:MFST) Active Server Pages(R) (ASP). In addition, XML is embedded in the language, reducing the time required to develop tags.
"We are inviting anyone that has a tough e-business project or a problem that perhaps your e-solution provider has not been able to solve, to take advantage of our challenge," said Dr. Dennis Sinclair, president and CEO of VirtualSellers.com. "We want to prove that TAME-based solutions can be more rapidly developed and can provide faster, more efficient programming than any other product available."
In the TAME(R) Challenge, VirtualSellers.com's developers will not know what the project entails until it is selected.
Goal: Solve a Web-publishing or data driven, content-related issue with TAME(R).
Criteria: To participate in the TAME(R) Challenge, e-solutions providers should:
1. State the project's goal and fundamental issues
2. Provide data sources to be used (if any)
3. Provide existing page level design (if any)
4. Disclose research/development to date
5. Be willing to share any received proposals from other solution
providers
6. Be willing to allow VirtualSellers.com to document and
publicize the results of the challenge. -- Names may or may
not be changed to protect the innocent.
How it will work:
1. VirtualSellers.com will accept requests from e-solutions
providers to participate in the TAME(R) Challenge
2. VirtualSellers.com will select five projects from those
submitted
3. The top five projects will then be published for a vote to
choose one candidate
4. The submitter of the winning project will be contacted to
collect the needed information
5. Project work will begin by VirtualSellers.com
6. The finished project will be made available for viewing
7. A detailed case study will be presented in conjunction with a
public teleconference
Deadline: TAME(R) Challenge project submissions must be received no later than Jan. 3, 2000.
Submissions should be made via e-mail to tamevirtualsellers.com. For questions related to the Tame(R) Challenge, or product information, call Scott Lopes at 847/463-1565.
