I am not a programmer. My son was utterly enthused with the capability of the program his company was testing. The simplicity of changing information, reduction of errors and time saving element in it. From his perspective as a programmer it was tops. My knowledge of the function of an object base program is his description you push the gas pedal you dont going to the engine to start the car.

So now to the business point at his firm the decision was made not to use the program due to the cost of the program. From what i gather it there was a monthly retainer involved. My son is not in the financial end of the business and i am going under the assumption his statement was correct.
That lead me to wonder if the program is capable of reduction of staff in the engineering department? His particular division is creating new systems and perhaps i am not seeing things accurately but the function of a business and the technical ability of the business are often worlds apart.
His end is creative they build the systems IT and all. We can adapt this and that was the solution for the group he works with. Long range the cost of using ODIS could of being significantly less. From my perspective if the software is as good as they say it the problem lies in lack of knowledge and communication between finance and tech.
