I think you make a good point.

Having looked once again into the manual, I conclude that if Ctxs is indeed at the mercy of MSFT it can only be a chimp, and a shaky one at that.

At this point in time I still believe that Citrix is operating within the NT gorilla game, the importance be that it is Microsoft's game, not Citrix's game. I am encouraged about Citrix's future because there are many things happening as we speak that might be weening Citrix from Microsoft's parenthood.

As for it being a shaky chimp, try this interpretation on for size: Citrix is the dominating, enabling chimp in a niche market. The only thing stronger than a dominating, enabling chimp in a niche market is a gorilla.

And now that I think of it, I'm not sure an apps gorilla is as strong. This is something we and the authors have never discussed, if I remember correctly. Which is stronger, the dominating, enabling chimp in a niche market or a gorilla in an apps space?
