Calladine I agree 100%.NN is in a different league and will prosper in the Carrier space. It will nibble at several ISPs though. However don't discount alliances with emerging optical start ups. They will be cheaper when market falls.
CSCO, NT, LU will divide mos tof the communications market. However that market is so huge that NN will prosper even alone, with Flynn at the helm, although I think it will be better with if they join a bigger player,

GOTTA HAVE SCALE?
or the big guys destroy you in the market? Agree, HOWEVER:
Flynn makes the point that they have to choose where they are going to compete since they CANNOT compete against the entire range, which is now too vast.
Does anybody on this thread think that NN is in the same league as CSCO, NT, LU? I doubt it.
But can NN thrive and even prosper on the basis of:
-- capitalizing on their customer base -- being the innovation and reliability leader in several well chosen synergistic markets
I think so.
To me the questions are:
1) are they going to be bought in the immediate future? 2) if not, what exactly ARE they going to do? 3) will they actually do it? 4) can they consistently play in the EPS game?
Maybe I am gigantically naive, but I am modestly optimistic on all counts.
Best wishes,
Jim
